Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO)

This advanced orthopedic procedure is considered one of the most effective surgeries to repair a torn cranial cruciate ligament in dogs. The surgery includes altering the angle between the femur and tibia to reduce the amount of tibia shift during the dog’s stride. By changing the angle, it creates a more normal configuration of the knee joint and reduces mechanical stress.

Dr. Lucas Moeder grew up in La Crosse, Kansas. After doing his undergraduate studies and veterinary school at Kansas State University, Dr. Lucas joined a mixed animal practice in Rose Hill, Kansas where he spent four years. During this time, he developed a skill and passion for orthopedic surgery. Dr. Lucas saw that many communities across the state of Kansas were without local options for orthopedic referrals and therefore made the decision to start offering mobile orthopedic procedures to practices all across the state of Kansas. Dr. Lucas and his wife, Kelly, now live in Hays, Kansas with their two children, Grace and Miles.

Mobile Pet Imaging

Mobile Pet imaging provides echocardiograms and multi lead EKG for our clinic. Echocardiograms and EKG’s can provide us with valuable information on how the heart is functioning. An echocardiogram shows how blood moves through the chambers and values, while an EKG shows the electrical activity of the heart.

Anita Keck is a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with certifications in Adult Echocardiography and Pediatric Echocardiography. She received her training at the University of Kansas Medical Center. After she obtained a master’s degree in education, she decided to pursue a degree in the veterinary field. She was accepted into the Veterinary Technology program at Maple Woods Community College in 2003 and graduated from that institution in 2005. Her goal is to bring this service to the primary care veterinarians where the client and pet feel most comfortable.
