SEDATION FOR X-RAYS OR GROOMING

Pre-Sedation Bloodwork

Prior to administering anesthesia, it is recommended that your pet be screened for internal problems not readily evident on the external physical exam. A blood sample should be taken from your pet today to screen for anemia (red cell count), infection (white cell count), bleeding or clotting disorders (platelets), & kidney function. Tests for dogs 1-8 & cats 1-10 years old will also include liver, protein and electrolyte levels. Senior dogs over 8 & cats over the age of 10 will have an extensive panel evaluating all major internal organ function, for cats this including the thyroid screening.
The extent of bloodwork is determined by your veterinarian based on the length of sedation, your pet’s age, and his or her overall health status.

Cats and Dogs Under 1 Years $87.50
Cats 1-10 Years and Dogs 1-8 years $142.00
Dogs Over 8 years $190.00
Cats Over 10 Years $237.00

Sedation Authorization:

I authorize the ANIMAL CLINIC OF NORTH TOPEKA and its staff to administer the anesthesia necessary to X-ray or groom my animal, and said animal has had nothing to eat since 9PM last night.
